SPOTTED! Celeb Nike "Marty McFly" Air Mag Sightings!!! :D

The hip hop world has been turned upside down in support of Michael J. Fox and Parkinson's disease research with the recent release of Marty McFly's Nike Air Mag sneakers from the 1989 blockbuster "Back to the Future II".  There are only 1500 pairs in existence, so the fact that they are exclusive made them a "must-have" in the hip hop community.

As mentioned in an earlier article, the upper of the shoe is made of reinforced mesh. The outer sole is lined with LED panels that'll light up just like all futuristic shoes imagined in the 80's should (we're not talking corny LA Gear shoes here, people). The Air Mag is rechargeable and will stay lit for 5 hours. There's also a electroluminescent Nike logo in the strap. It's pretty much the exact replica of the pair of shoes Marty McFly famously wore with a few slight tweaks to add more support and comfort.  The only thing missing is the power lacing feature!  The shoes were made available via eBay's Fashion Vault, which started September 8, 8:30PM PST and ended September 18.

Below are a few pics of celebs rocking the kicks:

Kid Cudi

Ludacris

Chris Brown

Kanye West, Rick Ross, Wale and...

Tinie Tempah, who bought the most expensive, FIRST pair of Air Mags for $37,500.00!!!

Kid Cudi: Snags the new Marty McFly Air Mags!!!

Kid Cudi was very excited to win some pairs of the new “Marty McFly” Nikes we told you about in early September.  The 1989 Air Mags were available by eBay auction and the proceeds went to the Michael J. Fox foundation to benefit Parkinson’s disease.

The least expensive pair of "Back to the Future" Nikes were sold for $4,000.00.  Out of only 1500 pairs made, he snagged 5 pair, 4 for him and 1 for his girlfriend.  He stated on Conan that he never went on eBay until the shoes came out! Cudi rocked the futuristic kicks while celebrating his Complex Magazine cover at Siren Studios in Los Angeles as well. Check the video from Conan below:
